How
It Works
Raw video footage, the rushes, are digitally
transferred to a high speed AV hard disk,
at broadcast quality. The digital video
footage is now ready to edit on a twin processor
PC specifically dedicated to this process
Once
the footage is on disk, non-linear video
editing software permits greater flexibility
and cost-effectiveness compared with traditional
reel-to-reel. Editing time is significantly
reduced.
It
works in a similar way to word processing
text. For example, a clip of images can
be cut and pasted, cut again if required,
and re-pasted anywhere within the programme.
All this is done without any compromise
in picture quality. In addition it allows
numerous attractive editing effects, great
audio, and it's relatively easy to learn.
These days there is even free public domain
software so a novice could learn the basics
without a cost penalty.
